Corona-Norco District Awarded $5 Million Grant to Improve Writing
The Press Enterprise (August 8, 2010)
The Corona-Norco school district will use part of their federal stimulus grant to expand its use of Step Up to Writing and other writing programs. "This identifies the best practices we've used so far and expands them," [Superintendent Thomas] Pike said. "I think this is a great kudo to all of our teachers and curriculum and instruction staff."

Farm Animals Give Corona Kindergarteners Something to Write About
The Press Enterprise (April 28, 2010)
"Kindergarten classes use an interactive approach through Step Up to Writing lessons. At the beginning of the year, the teacher demonstrates how to write on large sheets of lined paper. Then students write the first letter of words, [kindergaten teacher] Julie Stallings said. They progress to writing whole words and then sentences."
